Last week, ESG Pacific was proud to co-lead a transformative regulatory training program in Tarawa, Kiribati, alongside the Asia Pacific Regulatory Centre (APRC) and key government and regional partners.
Our sessions focused on demystifying hashtag#Environmental, hashtag#Social, and hashtag#Governance (ESG) frameworks—why ESG matters, how it strengthens regulatory outcomes, and how to identify and address greenwashing practices. We believe ESG is not just a corporate checkbox, it is a powerful lens for responsible governance, consumer protection, and long-term resilience across island nations.
The training brought together frontline regulators, enforcement agencies, and policymakers from the Business Regulatory Centre, Ministry of Tourism, Commerce, Industry & Cooperatives, Kiribati Chamber of Commerce, Police, and Customs, with discussions grounded in the realities of the Pacific context.
Through case-based simulations and interactive dialogue, we emphasized how ESG integration in regulatory functions can create more transparent, accountable, and people-centered systems. These conversations are essential for shaping fair markets, safeguarding public trust, and guiding businesses toward a more sustainable Pacific.
We thank hashtag#APRC for the opportunity to support this important work and PACER Plus for enabling these regional knowledge exchanges. ESG Pacific remains committed to empowering institutions with the tools to lead with integrity, impact, and inclusion.
